Data Sources & Refresh

What the data is based on

HVAC Signals is built on public-facing evidence. We do not claim perfect omniscience or use mystery lists. The value is in how we normalize, interpret, and prioritize live signals so buyers can focus their time on better targets.

Public signal categories we monitor

Service area claims

City lists, metro references, and coverage pages that indicate where an operator is actively selling and servicing.

Website freshness

Copy updates, recent content, new pages, current promotions, and visible signs that a company is actively maintaining its web presence.

Hiring and growth signals

Recruiting language, open roles, and expansion cues that can suggest operating momentum or capacity build-out.

Review and reputation patterns

Public review presence and consistency signals that can indicate customer traction and brand strength.

Service mix clues

Residential vs. commercial emphasis, emergency service, financing, memberships, IAQ, plumbing/electrical add-ons, and other buyer-relevant signals.

Ownership and company context

Founder language, family-business claims, tenure cues, and other publicly visible indications that shape buyer-fit and diligence posture.

How often the intelligence changes

Rolling signal capture

Signal collection is ongoing. Reports reflect the latest available signal snapshot at generation time, not a fixed annual list.

Buyer-facing refreshes

Monthly monitoring and fresh territory reports are meant to surface meaningful new movement—expansion, recruiting, refreshed service mix, and visible operating momentum.

Validation guidance before outreach

What buyers should expect from a strong profile

Clear local brand

Consistent service-area claims, strong review visibility, and evidence of market recognition.

Operational momentum

Signals such as recruiting, fresh service pages, expansion language, or multi-location coverage.

Actionable next steps

Enough context to decide whether the company belongs in outreach prep, active review, or a monitor list.
